Question about Crank Sprocket...
I'm doing a cam install and was wondering just how far the crank sproket can go on the crank. I'm trying to line up the sprockets and didnt want to push the bottom one too far back. It's the Rollermaster Double set by the way. Thanks
So just pound it on all the way? I put the new sprocket on the crank, and then put the old one on and hit the old one lightly with a hammer. Is this okay? It seems like the sprocket can keep going back and rub on the block. If I put it on all the way, is it necessary to check the alignment of the sprockets? I treid a straightedge but it was difficult to look for any errors. thanks
i use an old one and a piece of pipe to push the new one on using the crank pulley bolt. I never pound on the crank, you smash the thrust bearing surface that way, never good.
It won't hit the block, no need to check alignment. As there not really anyway to adjust it. Just push it on and go

put the new one on until it stops. Then place the old one on after it. Thread the crank bolt in, and tighten it to push the sprocket on. You might need to add a spacer in there once you get past the end of the second sprocket.
