Finished the install this morning and i just got back from the test drive. It drives awesome! It started right up first try, no stumbling or missfiring. Idle is the same as stock, its a little deeper tone but you cant tell its cammed. Sounds great with my Spintech mufflers. It definitely has more power across the board. It pulls nice and hard from 3000 up. I havent gotten above 5 yet. Im anxioous to get it on the dyno

Well its definitely faster. I just raced my buddy. He has an 09 Mustang GT. He has custom tune, full bolt ons, 4.10 gears, and nito 555's. He usually beats me by half a car. If im lucky i could hang beside him.

Well we just raced from a dig and also from a role. Each time i pulled on him. We raced 4 times. Once from a light where he got the jump on me ( damn drag radials of his ) but i was able to start pulling by him around 75 mph then we had to slow down for cars. The rest of the races were from around a 45 roll to 130. Everytime i pulled away from him in third gear. I was a car and a half ahead him by 130.

Should be better once i get it tuned

Yeah i was worried about that as well while i was running him. I had my diablo tuner plugged in so i know i wasnt getting any knock or running it extremely lean. I know it needs some tuning though. Tune and dyno numbers tomorrow though!!!

First of all, "thank you" to the O.P. for creating and keeping this thread up to date. I've been very curious about this cam from the moment I starting researching what type of H/C Setup I want for my Firebird. (Probably getting close to a year now.) This thread has been very informative.

I especially like BlackNiteWS6's story in Post #65. Very impressive!

Glad to hear you're already putting those GT's in their place, too.

I'm interested to know what kind of numbers you put down, both on the dyno and if you ever plan to run it at the track.

Please keep this great thread going.

redracer1...

I'm very interested in knowing what kind of results you get from this combo. If you do pull the trigger on this H/C Package, please post up once your install is complete.

You guys definitely have my attention. Good luck.

Well got the dyno numbers. Im a little dissapointed it wasnt more but with the great drivability and it didnt need much in tuning it is a nice cam. If i had a set of heads im sure it would be at 400 rwhp. I was at 361 RWHP and 351 RWTQ. Note that i only gained 1 hp peak but my torque curve stayed virtually the same from 2600 up where my HP increase was noticed from 4500 up.

The stock cam fell flat at about 5300 where the Cheater V3 was still building power to 6800. Between 5400 and 6800 i was peaking and making 30 HP more then stock.
