Default how long will my stock ls1 hold high rpm's

i feel like this is a stupid question. but here goes.. i want to participate in some burnout contests this summer with my 98 z28 m6.. i have been doing burnout contests, drag racing & driving older camaro's w/carbed small blocks for about 10 years. i won 5 burnout contests while holding my 400 sbc at 58-6000 rpm's for about 10-15 seconds. never had problems or never thought of this question.. crowds love high rpm, loud exhaust & lots of smoke. my motor is all stock except for slp lid, long tube headers ,3" ory w/3"x 3.5flowmaster merge into moroso spiral flow then out w/slp loudmouth tailpipes. 3.73 gears.
NO TUNE YET. the burnout contests around here are about 20 seconds long. i do have a linelock. i figured i would start in 1st, bring the rpm's up quick, then shift to 2nd. or i my not shift it ..

here's my concern, will my motor turn lets say 5500 rpm's for 10-20 seconds with no problems? motor has 122000 on it. no problems now. it runs like a champ. i know 2 guys here locally that are ls1 experts. 1 guy says i will be ok. the other say don't do it. what are ya'lls opinion on rpm's & give me advise on doing burnout contest w/ m6 ls1 camaro.. sorry this is so long.

I've done 10 seconds at 5500 in 2nd with 410 gears, but be careful about bouncing it off the rev limit. You can get 20 seconds out of it no problem if you've done a bunch.

btw - line lock is cheating...just treat it like a 5000rpm launch

Well, I beat the crap out of my procharged car with a stock bottom end for nearly two minutes in a burnout contest.

Here is the video. Watch it in HD it is way better.

So I think the old LS1 can take a lot of punishment. You will be more than fine for a 20 seconds of terror.

I took all three trophies in my division (V8 Posi) and I also took the over all crowd pleaser trophy.

These guys around here have never seen anything like it. They wrote articles in the paper about it and everything. I found it very amusing.
