Don't think it needs to be GTO specific. Is it a LS1 motor you are swapping in?

they only ask to make sure any specific changes require a different part number for running changes during assembly that may not coincide with model year.

yea im swapping an transam ls1 into my s13 so im looking for some parts, and it seems to be cheaper at the gm store then to buy it online..
i got the gto oil pan for $259.oo after tax and all.
now i need the gto oil pan windage tray and the pick up tube.

so yea..they asked me for the vin # when i went to order my gto oil pan, but i didn't have one. so i just got from one of there gto that was for sale but the guy didnt like that..idk if hes just an *** hole or what.

so i dont know i guess ill go to another gm store and maybe they will be nicer and get one of there vin #

hey one more question what kind of cams do you guys recommend me..my motor is all stock and i think some beefier cams will do good for my ls1, im thinking about upgrading for a fast intake manifold for better airflow and im looking for some good competition cams. so if you guys have any good news on cams let me know, cuz i dont know much about ls1 parts.

thanks guys for your time and patience..im a noob into the ls1 world so thanks for the help.

If you just need it for parts, just use somebody elses. Search Autotrader, ebay or cars.com, they usually post VIN's on there. Borrow one of them.

For starters...LS' motors have a cam...not cams.
There is a different cam for everyone, based on your goals with the car, drivability, etc.
