LS6 intake will be fine and ported 243s stage 1 (stock valves) is what I recommend.

you mentioned tea stage 2 ls6's earlier, why go to a stage 1? will the ls6 intake choke the stage 2's too much? also why not some ported 5.3's that will also add a little compression? thanks for the input.

Those would be best bang for buck. Also for PTV reasons. TEA is well priced but not budget.
5.3s will need a bigger intake valve and stage 1 243s will cost less. (If you shop around)

Good choice on heads I like mine. Now I would suggest some YT UL rockers....

Yes you need new head bolts if you presently have stock GM bolts.

Just pick up one header bolt and you can reuse the rest.....

Nice new heads, that should really go with the El Torro. With my head swap, I did new Head Bolts (ARPs), New Header Gaskets, New Head Gaskets, New Intake Gaskets, New Valve Cover Gaskets. These aren't all necessary, but I wanted a nice good seal especially since all the old seals had 80k miles on them and were showing their age.

It is almost impossible if not immpossible to get the proper wipe pattern on TFS heads without aftermarket rockers. Shims will probably be needed to set proper wipe. It essentially keeps the rocker centered over the valve stem and keeps the rocker from scrubbing sideways over the valve tip. If the wipe is not good premature valve guide wear will happpen and cause oil consumption issues. YT UL's are usually preffered unless you go big $$$$ Jesel. I opted for the Yella Terras....

Shane at Thunder Racing has posted a few times that he has achieved proper wipe with the stockers and TFS heads but is the only guy I have seen claim to achieve it. Get up with him for some tips if you wanna try to run the stockers.

Search around and there should be several threads about wipe.......

yes hook up with Shane he will give you all the part numbers you will need...I would just do a trunion upgrade to your stock rockers and get shane's shim kit...

but if you do decide to go roller rocker, not necessary, I would only get the yella terras like mentioned already...I would talk with Shane though he knows his ****...
