Default 224 228 112 Cam

Well my ute has just ran over 100,000kms its a 2002 VU SS ute i am over in OZ.
Wondering how many kms and with mods does the LS1 motors hold out to????
I am wanting to be adding a few more Killer Wasps to the current set up.

Ute has 1/34 pacemaker headers, 2.5 exhaust OTRCAI, 3.9 gears

What is gonna go in!
Any input on anything below would be helpful.

224 224 112 cam

Dual springs, titanium retainers, new seals, locks, bases

Moly pushrods

LS1 heads cncd or Trickflow heads not sure

Comp 850 lifters

YellaTerra Rockers

New head gaskets GM MLS

ARP head bolts

25% UDP

Need some help guys as the camshafts are much more aggressive in the US

The ute is weekend driven, will see the qtr mile for times!!!!

cheers

consider a thunder racing 224 cam,TR224.check out engine power systems,EPS cams.stock #243s will make 400 hp with a TSP 228 cam.I like the trick flow cast 220cc heads,for $1700.vengeance racing offers a great head/cam combo,TFS heads/cam/push rods/gaskets/bolts.what intake are using.

+1 on the TSP 228r, thats what I'm going with in my 6.0. Do you want your power under the curve or more towards the top?

Cam choice is leaning 224 224 or even a 228 232 or 228 228

Compression ratio still deciding?

I would like good power curve but also heavier top end wouldnt hurt
Trick flow 220c heads would be plenty as i may even go 383 in the next few yrs

My intake is an OTRCAI Maffless
But a 90mm nick williams throttle body could be needed for engine to breath
or FAST combo

VUSS very interested in this setup. Let me know how it goes. My LS1 just turned 111k mi & I'm awaiting a 12-bolt. And was looking for a decent 420-440hp setup that won't my stock bottom end until there's $ for a new motor. 224 226 112lsa w/ a set of AFR or TFS 205s or even just a ported #243 to save some cash was what i'm leaning towards. Mods in sig. Will be adding a FAST & a higher stall before the H/C swap.

I second checking with Geoff @ EPS.

Sidenote, Ute's are extremely rare over in the states. I have yet to see one.

Since you don't already have a FAST yet, you might want to look into the fairly new FAST 102mm. It's the same price as the 92mm even though it flows better.

well if ur goin for cubes i recon u can go a bigger stick.

u goin to use the standard block?

go trickflows or get a set of 243 castings and get those worked.

go marranos. Also have a think whether an ls3 + cam + head work might suit

u as well. Cubes are nice but in oz can be pretty pricey.

cheers,

gav

Vengance combo sounds good!!!
Wonder what the Customs and import duty would slug me???

I have thought long about a ls3 + cam install is about 15k done and dusted

But leaning towards keeping my motor had it for 4 yrs and it dosnt burn oil i have put 40,000kms on it now 100,000kms, oil done ever 5000kms with 10/40 Nulon. Radiator done soon as i got it never driven in congested traffic only high way or cold night thrashes.
Motor seems to just be run in.

Yes i will keep my block get it tested

Its not gonna be a gut wrenching Monster
