Default Thoughts on Torquer V2 cam

My car is mostly stock (catback and lid). I do plan to add an ls6 intake after the cam is installed, but I don't want LT's or an O/R pipe. Will this cam still perform through the stock exhaust?

Without long tube headers the cam will not pick up near the advertised power. Long tubes really make a big difference on these cars. If you can't get the exhaust out the car won't be able to make more power. I have no idea what kind of power you would pick up as we have never installed a cam that large without long tube headers.

Hmmm...sounds like its time to look for a used set of headers.

I made just under 400rwhp with this cam in my M6 and kept my stock ls1 intake. But i do have a full exhaust set up and a lid other than that the car is pretty much stock. I think its a good cam my car runs strong and pulls hard from mid range all the way up top.

You'll need a larger split between the intake and exhaust; like with a blower cam(except w/tighter LSA).
For example: 226/234, 228/234, 230/236
Just have TSP do up a custom cam.

Mids?

So now I'm thinking the LS6 intake is not needed. I do have an SLP lid installed already.

I think you might be confused on what part is the intake. You want to have an LS6 intake if you have an LS1 currently.

The lid connects to the maf then connects to the throttle body, which is then bolted directly onto the intake. With a 232/234 .595/.598 cam you are going to want to move some air and exhaust. Just think of an engine as a giant air compressor (well, cause thats what it is, really). The more air you can move the more power you are going to make.

If you are far from having most bolt-ons then a cam really isnt going to do you much good at all. You will get the lopey idle and that will really be about it.

Mids are a the mid length headers between a stock manifold and a longtube. Its just a compromise between the 2.

Hmmm, so the LS6 intake is really that much better. I think it should give me some performance, but I agree, the Lt's would optimize the combo.

If you get that cam, just go ahead and pick up the TSP cam and spring package (which also comes with pushrods). I'd get the dual springs, but the beehive springs should be acceptable too.

Get headers first, youre doing things backward. And the LS6 intake manifold too.

I think u will loose a lot of low end midrange over say a 224r cam with the v2. if u dont drive it on the street much guess it doesnt matter.

FTI tq/HT streetsweeper 224/228 228/232? would fit the bill for u even their baby cam is making 400hp 220/224 they know how to put in a small cam and make big power from what I have been reading. Im looking at a 224/230 for my car

Quit trying to skip steps. If you do it, you'll regret it. Put some longtubes on the car first. Finish the bolt ons, then move to a cam.

The car is my daily driver...tell me more about these other cams. I do not want to get into LT's, I'll give up the 20-30 hp.
