look at TSP or vengeance racing for good head/cam kits.

Best? Are you on a specific budget? Talk to Virginia Speed and talk to them about a set of Performance Induction heads and a custom cam. Be prepared, the heads aren't cheap, but horespower isn't either.

A used pair of 243 LS2 heads can be bought for $400 to $450 or you can spend $2300 to $2400 for a pair of Trick Flow CNC ported heads or anything in between. As for cam, Texas Speed or Thunder Racing are my go to guys.

What's your budget? If you got money to spend, get some AFRs and a custom spec'd cam to go with.

Lots of good advice, won't go wrong following any of it.

My 2 cents worth, TFS 215 heads, and a custom cam spec'd to what your car will be running when all modding is done. I think you would be quite happy with TFS and a cam matched to there flow characteristics.

Best wishes whatever direction you choose.

You really cant go wrong with a good set of heads, as cast or aftermarket, and a custom cam.

No denying that Trick Flow heads are great, so are the PRC and AFR heads. For your budget, you might want to take a look at Texas Speed's stage 2.5 LS6 heads and cam package. You can get your choice of TSP cam, like a Torquer V2 or Magic Stick 3 or whatever.

You'll still need a heads and cam bolt and gasket kit (I would pick the MLS 3.91" head gaskets).

just call up a sponsor... your best bet is to look at peoples results as far as 1/4 times, hp gains and stuff like that.. give TSP, Vengeance, Speed inc and thunder racing a call..

just remember, these sponsors here get ask the same questions over 100x a day just like the one you ask. they will know exactly what will be good for you.

Lope should be a by-product of the cam and not a deciding factor. Sorry, just my opinion. If you want lope, take any cam, and drop the idle rpms to near factory and it'll lope.

TFS 215 or AFR 215 heads with a fast intake and mild cam will make a great combo. The streetability will be determined be your cam choice...to big and it will suffer. For cam selection I suggest speaking with Jeff @ EPS and have him select something for your needs. His cams have been making big power, but are small compared to what most people are using.

for that budget I'd get a set of PRC 5.3 heads from TSP and a 228r and call it a day.

Looks like there are plenty of good suggestions in here already, anything I would have suggested has already been said. Give us a call and we would be more then happy to go over a setup tailored for your needs!
