TR 224 how much power did you get?
With all the monster cams that are out there I thought it would be interesting to see how much power people have managed to squeeze out of the(baby?) 224 cam. I was able to to do a best of 12.2@116 cam only, and full weight 3755 with me in it. Anyone have their dyno, or track times?? I'm wondering if I could break into the 440-450 RWHP with a great combination?

I gained 30 Peak RWHP and 23 Peak TQ, but my curve is something of pure joy. I was untuned with LT's and a LS1 intake. Some Absolute stage 2 heads and Ported LS6 intake are on the way soon.

my car gained 22 rwhp with this cam only...no headers, ls1 intake (99 M6), no tuning and with the stock rev limiter (6k rpm)
only mods on the car were a lid, K&N, and an open cut out..that's it.
the car is getting LT, LS6 intake, PP 5.3 heads, and tuning by Nitro-Dave soon..

I just dynoed this weekend, full bolt-on car, plus the TR224 cam.
Before the last install (cam, ASP pulley), I put down 340/353 - running lean with a lot of detonation.
This weekend, I put down 380/367 - running *rich*, with *zero* KR/detonation.
Once I start tuning, I'm sure I can get some more ponies out - just need to decide if I want to lean her out some, or just bump up the timing some...
So, 40rwhp, 14rwtq, with no tuning yet...

We have done quite a few cars that made 400rwhp with stock heads and a couple that have done 440+ rwhp with a set of GTP stage 2 heads.
I used the TR224/114lsa cam last year with stock heads and picked up ~42rwhp with all the bolt ons already installed. This was good enough for 11.50@~120 with a spinning 1.7x 60'.

Not my car but I do have a buddy that installed this cam on his 00 T/A last summer. His mods included TR224 cam, LT, Lid, Borla, LS6 intake. He dyno'd 365hp and around 361tq. The car is tuned. I was not impressed with the numbers but the tq curve of his cam was unreal. The car stopped making power at 5,800rpms. The cam was installed correctly and the tune was performed by Speed Inc. Best to date was a 12.7 @ 111 2.0 60' on a full weight car.
This was in a M6 btw.

Numbers in Sig..... I used to run an 2002 LS6 cam and made 376rwhp @ 361 rwtq so that is a gain of 23rwhp @ 25rwtq at peak over the LS6 cam. Probably would have been 35+ rwhp gain over my stock cam. I love everything about my TR224, awesome lowend grunt and pulls hard to 6500 rpms. With good tuning it's very very daily driver friendly.

Man, that 12.7 is slow. Sounds like driver issues there or a poor track. Mine made similar #s without an LS6 intake or ported TB 370/363 untuned to be exact. My car runs side by side with my buddies 11.7 Car. My best 1/8th as of this date is a 7.75 at 92 mph. My car peaked at 370 RWHP at 6100 RPMS, it made 360 at 5300 RPMS and at redline ( 6600 ) it was at 366 RWHP. So its pretty steady. Also very driveable untuned.

My stock internal motor made 325 hp and went a best of 11.6x.I added the Thunder 224/224/112 and Absolute Speed heads[Jays first set of ported heads]and in weather not as good as my 11.6 run it went 11.04 with 386 hp.The car had no other changes but the heads and cam.

WOW! You guys are running some fast times with your setups. I have a 224 /112 cam also. I'll hopefully have better tires this year but my best time has been 12.07 @117.5 with a 1.81 60ft! So I know all I need is tires to hit the 11's
