Have your #243s worked on, or buy a set of AFR205s or TFS215s imo.

I have thought about it but I really don't want the car to be down for a month or more. I have located a set of 799 casting heads which are the same as my 243s but I need to get some pricing together to see if it would even be worth buying the extra set to have ported.

i would have them milled to 62cc, would give u about 10.75:1 cr, have them put in 2.02/1.575 valves

I would have my 243s ported by a reputable porter like TEA, WCCH, cartek or PRC..Or if your on a budget you could get some tfs 220 as cast and later you can have those ported by TEA..jus my .02

IMO I would send my 243s to Tea, if they already have the lightweight valves in them. If you mill them .020 and use .051 mls gasket that will give 11:1

Unless your runnig a thicker then stock head gasket 62cc would give 11:1. Not sure about how much clearence that cam has but if you mill and go with oversized valves you need to measure for PtV.

01 z06's didn't get the lightweight valves, so it won't matter if he gets the 799's worked over or the 243's. Would for very little downtime, and can sell the 243's if he wants.

I stand corrected. For some reason I was thinking 02 Ls6.

They are already 61.7 or 62.7 cc from the factory...

And if i were u i would get a set of 215cc 11 degree PI heads, there isn't another head on the market that compares...

If you want power,go with after market heads. AFR 205 heads got me 40hp over a stock ported head from a top sponsor. TFS 215 heads will also be great. You can port a stock head and it will just be a stock ported head. Aftermarket cost more for a reason and are worth it.
