Depends on how you are making it I suppose. Check out the Forced Induction area, Rob Raymer is putting something along 700+hp on a stock shortblock. I hardly think thats recommended though. Wonder at what point its going to let go.

When you say stock shortblock, are you refering to the pistons and rods as weel or just the block and crank itself?

I dont think anyone really knows at this point.... There are not that many FI setups out there to test the longevity of a 700 RWHP Short block, and some FI setups POP just because of a bad tune.

What we do know so far is that the shorts seem to hold 450 RWHP pretty easy as long as you keep the RPMs under 6500....At and above 6500 the rods/rodbolts seem to be the weak link.

My car has a stock SB in it. stock rods, pistions, crank, only thing is cam and heads.
I have 50,000 hard miles on it and the last 20,000 have been with over 500 rwhp. Current #'s are 575 rwhp. over a year of *** kicking!!!
so they can do it, but not sure how much longer.

thanks for the info guys, i appreciate. Oh, my main concern would be the use of nitrous. can the stock setup handle a 100-150 shot if used quite often

N20 is a strange animal... It all depends on your luck, how you use it, how good your kit is, and if you ever have any hiccups.

With a correctly installed TNT F1 kit and 100 jets that is used responsibly you should not ever have any problems.... If you upgrade the fuel sys you can go with the 150 pill with no problem...Would not reccomend more than a 150 shot on a stock motor though...

Post this in the N20 Section...I am sure you will get some more educated responses..
