If $2100 is your max then I say go with the PP S2 LS6 heads. Any other head may cost close to the same as the PP heads but you have to pay for the core charge, just my .02

I say go with the Patriot's. U already have the TSP 231/237 cam. That will work great with those heads.

For the 1800 you will spend on the Pats you could get a set of Absolutes or go the way I did and get some TEAs. I know mine were less than that with the core added. And they are hand finished, I have a thread with the flow numbers. That is were TEA and Absolute dominate. Flow and power consistently. That's my .02

FWIW IMO

I would skip the PP LS6 style heads and go for TEA's or Absolutes. It's the same or less money for TEA/Absolute products that offer potentially better results.

For less money you can get a set of 1.5 TEA 5.3's with hand touch ups that will flow more air, are more consistant & tend to yield better results. TEA has excellent customer service and isn't constantly fixing stuff after it is sent out for the most part because TEA tends to get it right the first time.

Also Absolute is well worth considering. They have a special going on Stage 2 heads in the Sponsors section. The Absolutes are very well proven with excellent results.

Cammin posted some results from an independant flow test for the PP LS6 style head.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/132976-flowed-some-patriot-ls6-style-heads-independent-bench-today.html

To paraphrase many of the posts about PP customer service go something like: I had a problem with my PP and Terry took care of it. Terry is great for taking care of the problem parts PP sent me by sending replacement parts in a timely manner.

Terry does and outstanding job with taking care of problems & customer service based on what his customers say. The welding is very critical for a quality PP LS6 style head. Might ask Terry if anyone has ever had issues/sent/is sending PP LS6 "style" heads back due to the welded up chambers being soft or porous.

I could tell you how Absolute and Tea have way more cars producing lots more power and how they make more power from there 5.3 heads than the the pp ls6 style heads do. But I wont !

Ofcourse there are a few current posts where j-rods car with absolute heads makes 480 hp and another car just made 503 hp with absolute speed heads but Im sure you saw those on your own. There are a bunch of cars in the 450+ range with 5.3 heads from Absolute and TEA and there 5.3 heads cost less than the pp 6.0 heads . Ofcourse I wont tell you what to do.

Do it right the first time and get a set of 5.3 Absolute Speed heads they make great power at a great price.I know how hard it is to select a head for your car because you want the best,power/quality vs cost ratio.Give Jay a call at 516 987-9392,you will be glad you did.I have a set of Jays old style [2.75s which are now 2.5s]and made 446HP unlocked A4.

I have AS 5.3 S2 heads and a cam that is almost identical to the TSP cam. Mine has a little more lift. the combo was worth 434 RWHP and 408 RWTQ through a Moser 12 bolt with 4.11 gears and 17" Nittos @30PSI. Looking at the graph I think th preload on the Comp R lifters is too much and that may net another 5-10 RWHP whe fixed.

To Net it out, that cam with AS 5.3 heads is a good choice. I picked up ove 90 RWHP with that combo amd may have more in the car.

my vote is for absolute. jay is awesome to work with and for 1800 you can have a set of 5.3's that blow away patriot ls6 "style" heads. jays latest cnc heads, which will run you about 1800 with the core flowed 311cfm . the heads also had great low lift numbers as well.

here is a thread about his new heads:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...light=absolute

and here are the flow numbers if you don't wanna read it all:
lift- int - ex
200-153-117 stg2 5.3l 3.9 test bore
300-207-171 1-3/4 ex test pipe
400-257-204
450-278-214
500-291-222
550-304-224
600-311-229

best of all the numbers through an ls6 intake
200-153
300-204
400-247
450-261
500-272
550-279
600-283

Default Patriot heads

There is no issues or problems with any of the welded chambers.I have been doing this stuff for years.I have the heads heat treated so they are not soft or porous.

I have been flow testing many ports this week.On my bench the heads flow.I would like for an independent magazine or company to do a test.Someone that doesn't own or buy from any of the head companies.

now that sounds good to me just wonder if anyone will jump in. I will gladly let my car be the track test car after flow #'s are done

I am selling the GM PP LS6 heads because i am going with a blower and the chambers are 62 cc witch is to small to go with my blower and stock bottom end. I have one thing to say look at the flow numbers of the Gm PP heads! And that is with stock size valves! I think Cammin Beast put down 443 with these heads they are a great buy for the money! But I am not going to tell you that the others are not putting good numbers down cause they are, but you just have to make up your own mind and do what you want and not what everyone else want you to do! I know everyone here is just making suggestions so take a look at the other guys talk with them and then make your decision. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them so Good luck! Oh and if you want to see the flow numbers from my GM PP heads look in the for sale section. I have a sale pending so I am not trying to sell you mine I am just impressed with the low and mid lift numbers that are lacking on some of the other heads I have looked at!
