That is correct but logic tells me that you should not be compressing the spring when you are torquing the rocker to set it to the proper torque. I turn it over by hand while I am doing it and torque them when the lifter is on the bottom of the lobe. You can do several at once this way.

LS1's make great power. I agree 224 - 228 is the range cam you are looking for. I do think you will want a slightly higher stall though.

Hopefully you have either a 3.42 or 3.73 gear also.

you don't have to lower your oil pan to install the timing cover.

Pick the cam first and according to its powerband pick the stall with the right shift extensions.
LSA should be picked taking into consideration exhaust setup and power band desired.
I would say between 3000 and 6200 rpm.
Something like a 228/232 111+2 LSA with the right lobes. 8* overlap

Would the 3200 stall go good with the cam you mentioned. And what does the +2 on the 111 lobe seperation mean?

It means there is 2 degrees of advance ground into the cam.. This will bring the power in a lil sooner.

What STR will the verter be? Personaly I would not go less than 35/3600 stall. Why, because peak trq will be around 4600+ so unless it is a drag project, I would not go 1000rpm below that to hit he sweet spot of the band.

My car shift extension now goes down to 4100 just about, with the 3200 I think it would be at like 4600 or so.

Old Internet myth, with today's tuning specialists, one should choose overlap for rpm power band range desired.

The cam you say here looks like something I would want, but I was looking to order a kit from texas speed or somewhere if I could.

Texas Speed or any number of other vendors can grind that cam for you.

but a custom cam would probably be harder to get tuned with a mail order tune? Wouldn't the 228/228 with 112 lsa be about the same as the cam you mentioned pred-z?
