Default So it decided to die on me....

The other day i came out and it wouldn't start. It cranks and acts like it wants to start but will not.

This is what's been done to it recently.
Fuel pump/filter/relay
Plugs/wires
Ignition relay/starter relay

Last night I shook the battery and coincidentally it started up. But the auto part store was closed and I couldn't really take it anywhere.

I would think shaking the battery had nothing to with it, but the wires in the area that also moved while you shook the battery did.

Yeah ik. I tried shaking it this morning just to see and no go. It wouldn't start. I sprayed starter fluid in the throttle body and it turned over but died right after.

If it started with starter fluid then died then you may have issues with the fuel system.

What caused you to change the fuel relay before?

Well the fuel filter can be a maintenance item, but most folks do not change out a fuel pump or a fuel relay for "maintenrance." Were you having a fuel problem when those fuel-related components were cHanged?

Yeah. The fuel pump went out. I mean really it seems like the same thing it's doing now. But when we replaced the fuel pump we replaced the filter and relay along with it.

Plug a fuel pressure gauge into the fuel rail and see if you're getting fuel to the rails.

Wonder if the FPR is having issues. Checking fuel pressure is a must. When in doubt the big 3.... Fuel pressure, spark, compression. If you have a good volt meter or an o scope check the injector plus for reference. You should see the ECU opening and closing the ground side. Ignition on +12 volt to ground on one wire always.

Fuel pressure reads 50ish when key is on. How do you check for a spark?

pull a plug, ground the threads to a good ground, roll the engine over and see if you can see spark.

The ECU sends the fire signals to the coil packs based on the readings from sensors. Takes knock, MAF/MAP, TPS, and temp into account and adjust spark on those tables in the ECU.

But yeah you can get a spark plug, unplug the spark plug in the head and attach to the solo plug. Hold that plug against the block or a good ground and have someone crank it over. You can see the spark. You can also use a current clamp and a meter / scope.

I doubt you lost every coil pack... if you did you might need a sensor like a cam angle or crack angle sensor. Let us know how you make out.
