i hate it when people wanna pull the motor out of the bottom at my house then they dont have the crap to put it back together right away. then you have to put the k member back just to move it out of the way. i guess if its your lift and you arent gonna need it pull it out the bottom.

Just did one today. Pulled out tranny and pulled out engine from top. Removed long tubes and radiator and ac. And wires. Disconnected rack and pinion lines. And used chain from back of one head to front of opposite head and yanked here out. Cake to do screw the bottom and left hood on

take your time; bag and tag everything, be sure to remove all the ground straps; 2 on backside of drivers head; one by the starter and another one by the alternator I believe. If you have an auto the dip stick removal is a pain.
I used a Happy Hooker from TPIS; Google it...
good luck

Took about 2 hours to get it out. Leave everything attached when it comes out. Intake, wiring, accessories, trans, DS, even the belt was left on for the drop

I would go out the top, I think people tend to overlook how much more of a hassle it is going out the bottom (even though it seems cooler).
Unless you have a lift or a TON of garage space I don't see the benefit.

I think its INSANITY to mess with the ENTIRE frt end suspension just to remove the engine. I can't imagine the all the bs stuff involved. Guys that pull them out the bottom obviously never tried pulling them out the top. If you take a few mins to remove the intake and heads, pulling the engine out the top is so easy it almost jumps out on its own.
I think GM really got you BOTTOM guys to swallow on this one HEHE
Then after all the bs of lifting the car body off the sub frame you still have to lift the engine and remove it from sub frame you removed!!!!!!!!!! Before you do this please rent ONE FLEW OVER THE KOOKOO's NEST watch the move then REMOVE YOUR ENGINE FROM THE TOP! Ya JackWagon!
