Any of you guys that have built a .030 6.0, Has anyone checked to see if the 6.0 needs the torque plate hone?

We hone all our engines with a trq. plate. With head studs I would say it is a must to get the best ring seal.

If you hone any block you should use the right plate as well. I know a lot of people weren't at first or didn't because they don't have one.

250-450 depending on the plate and who makes it.

We made our own ( ACTUALLY 2 DIFFERENT ONES) for different headbolt size and dowel locations/size we use on the high hp big N20/FI applications.

If you can't find one local let me know (PM)a nd I can help you get around things

Thanks alot Nick, i will probably give you a call tomorrow

To make one for the six liter could i use like 2" steel? maybe a 4.125 bore size on the plate or is that too big?

Always try to use a similar material to the head going on as well as the head gasket. The bore won't make a whole of diff. unless you are runnig our 9/16 head stud package with 140lbs trq If you only use it on the cast block make the plate (with dowels) and 4.060-4.070 bore. Just be carefull when using the hone as the stones get close going out!
