Next question is how much does a Lifter pump up running vs. when you roll it over to check it..

Not sure I understand that question. The adjustable pushrod isn't installed and the motor turned over, it is used to make a measurement of length only.

Do you know how to use it?

You place it in under the rocker, tighten the Rocker down to spec, then adjust the Pushrod to Zero Lash. Take it out, measure the length, then add the Lifter Preload to get the proper length of Pushrod you need.

Be sure to check both banks on the motor regardless of what the machine shop says. Some shops will tell you the heads are perfect and you only need to check the #1 cylinder. Take the extra 30 minutes to check the other side anyway.

Cheers
