Rocker arm choice
I'm still planning on what kinda parts should go into my new engine build. So far my list is like this:
224/230 cam
Ported 5.3 head
Patriot Dual Gold spring
Comp Cam pushrod
Fast 90/90
Cryogenic treated stock crank
Forged piston -3 cc
Forged connecting rod
UD pulley
Pacesetter LT with TSP catted Y-pipe
I haven't decided which rocker arms I should use. I'm debuting between Harland Sharp non-adjustable roller rockers and stock rocker arms with Comp Cams Trunion Upgrade Kit. With my set up, which rocker arms you guys prefer? Power goal is around 420rwhp and the motor will not see boost or NOS.

Why the trunion upgrade? and what's it cost? My roommate is doing it and I'd like to find out more about it. For the cost of the upgrade should one just get the Yellow Terra's?

The yella terra are like $500, the comp cam trunion upgrade is just over $100. If you have money to burn get the yella terras.
I went with the trunion upgrade just to keep the stock rockers from losing their needle bearings. Unless your setup is really wild, the trunion upgrade is good enough. And they're easy enough to install.

^ Woops.. .639" here and running stockers w stock trunnions. Gonna do the YT's soon tho. I'm gonna have to do it soon though. 59k on the stockers (59k mile car) and almost 10k on the h/c setup (gonna need new springs soon too.) Just gotta watch out for valve guide wear also.

I run the stockers with the Comp trunion upgrade (.621" lift), The body of the OEM LS rockers are a very good design. Replacing the weak point, the trunion, is great insurance. Plus its only $130!!!
I wouldnt buy any heavy aftermarket rocker at this point. They just put added weight where you dont want it, over the tip of the valve. Roller wheel are just added weight, and have no value. People eventuly will learn the sliding pad, like the OEM rockers, is a much better idea!

If someone is too lazy to do the uprade trunion themselves or too impatient to get them done by HS the TxSpd has stockers with bearing upgrade for $400. Im not a fan of HS rockers or their bearings. Ive seen both fail numerous times on different cars. Heavy *** rocker as well.
