Default HELP ME FAST!! (problem solved!) (updated!)

Im out swapping intakes(BBK) on my car (00 Trans am). And the ****** wont sit right on the heads. You can line the bolt holes up and there is about a 1/8" gap or so between the intake and the heads, and you can wobble the intake back and forth... Any ideas??? i need help fast, im out in the garage as we speak... Thanks

yeah, the non-ls6 motors had a coolant line that connected the front and rear head steam vents. your best bet might be to upgrade to the LS6 system where the rears are blocked off.

Get the block off plugs off a newer motor like on the trucks that don't allow water to transfer from the back of the heads to the front. Then just do the crossover in the front. That's how the new trucks are, it should be ok for your car.

Heres my plan since i gotta have this done. Im going to cut the coolant lines where the red lines are, then connect a hi-temp rubber hose between the cut ends with clamps. think this will be ok? I dont see a problem with it, that way the holes will be "plugged"

Search for this man... You can modify it yourself. There are plenty of threads floating around about it.

Your best bet is too double flare the ends of those tubes if you cut them. That way you will not get any leaks. You may be able to get away with a couple clamps on some heater hose but I personally would not run that in my car forever. More of a temp fix until you get heads, then do it right. What you are suggesting has been done before without problems. I personally grinded the fins on the bottem of my lS6 until it fit right. Not sure if that is possible with a BBK but the coolant crossover tubes that cool the back of the heads especially around CYL 7 is a added bonus for me since I run a 98 block and spin it too the moon. Keep us updated how it turns out.

Also you will need the button head valley cover bolts. they are M8x1.25 x 30 you need 11. I know Ace hardware carries them.
