Default 01 trans-am engine removal

hello, is it possible to remove an ls1 from the topside or is the only to remove from the bottom?

Top or bottom - your choice. Do a search in the General Maintenance & Repair section, lots of info there.

Yeah pulled mine up through the top. Took the struts off the hood so I could push it up a little farther out of the way. removed the intake and used a TPIS valley cover lift plate. I also removed all the front accessories.

DId my camaro through the top..... i would recommend not having the intake on it, and if u have a/c then take all the pulleys off makes it a lot easier, especually going back in trying to get everything to line up

i have drop one from the bottom [camaro] and pulled two from the top [transam]. will not drop one from the bottom again. to me its quicker and less of a mess.

Already had my entire top end off so I went out the top. Tranny still attached too. Not a terrible job with the right tools. Just pull it out very very slowly to make sure you have everything disconnected and so you can adjust the tranny as needed as it comes out.
