Default H/C swap.....no oil pressure

i just finished my H/C swap, new timing chain, oil pump, elec. fans, etc.
i started it up.....it fired right up, after about 5 sec. i got oil pressure (about 35psi) it ran for about 1-2 min and i lost oil pressure. i shut it down.
i checked my fluid, i added 1/4 quart of oil. no leaks. after sitting for 5 min, i started it again and let it run for about 20 sec. still no oil pressure.......the low oil pressure check light came on.

the only thing i can think of what's wrong is the oil pick up tube didn't seat all the way once i installed the oil pump. i dropped the oil pan down 1/2" to get to the one bolt and the tube and all seemed to fit back all normally.

any advice? thank you.

did you hook up the oil pressure sensor?

my guess is either you pinched the oil pump o-ring in the pickup tube or broke the oil sending unit at the back of the valley cover. I would pull the intake and check the sensor before i dropped the oil pan or pulled the timing cover to check the oil pump o ring.

i'm going to go ahead and pull the intake again to inspect. i'm not looking forward to dealing with that pulley again. i was hoping it would be a good while before i had to mess with that.

also, the low oil pressure warning came on in the message center. does that take the same reading from the oil pressure gauge?

Check that your cam plate is sealed too.

i got the pump off again. before i pulled it, i got my head up in there and pushed down on the tube, and it was all seated in good.
once i got it out, the ring looks OK. since i have it out, i'll go ahead and try and find a new one tomorrow. i have the green one. i noticed in some search threads people have talked about other colors. which one is the best?
i'll hook up my mechanical pressure gauge tomorrow. this is getting me worried to keep starting it up without pressure.

GOT OIL PRESSURE!!!!!!!!! i got so much oil pressure, it's not even funny. about 50 psi at cold start.
this morning i put in a new O ring. also changed my cam retainer plate.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST CHANGING OUT YOUR O-RING EVERY TIME YOU TAKE OUT THE PUMP. it's only $7.

thanks for all your inputs.

here are a few videos of the start up. the first video is the original start up when i lost oil pressure. sorry for the wind, i moved the camera back for the next one. the rocker noise is more quiet now that i have pressure. can still hear it though.

If you had not found it yet, I was going to suggest it, the O ring is one of the worst parts about the swap as it takes a good deal of work to get back in there.
