Default Engine rebuild opinions

Ok i really need some opinions here. im so torn on my ideas and choices. this is what im floating around.
bore and wet sleeve my ls1 to a 427 and build up from that.
forged bottom end and procharger
build a nice 408
and there is so many more. this will not be a daily driver, but still street legal. price doesnt matter. 500-600rwhp or more. im really going towards the sleeved 427 just because it will be different than other 427s but i might just keep it simple with the procharger.
im so torn about this and im never gonna build it if i cant decide on something.
if you guys could help out and give me your engines and if your happy with what youve done might make this alittle better for me.
please help
thanks

In my opinion building an iron block 408 has got to be one of the best bang for your buck builds for these cars. You can easily build one to make 600fwhp N/A and then spray nitrous on top of that. Like I said this is just my opinion for a strong street/strip car that wouldn't cost a ton of money. Good luck with your build.

I don't have anything close to what You guys have . I have a h/c 5.3L iron . But in my opinion for the kind of power You will have , it makes alot of sense to go with an iron block . The LS1 blocks are rated by GM as good to 650hp which probably is flywheel . The iron block is maybe 75lb. heavier . Not alot considering the block won't warp anything considerable at 650 or 700 whp . I would build it anywhere from 6.2 - 7.0 . Heck why don't You get You an LSX the big 1 and stroke and bore it to 480ci or even bigger . More recently I saw either someone or a vendor that sells parts to make it 500 or 510 or something like that . Would be kinda cool to have a 500 cu "small block" Chevy .

Found it. ERL does it, found the build on Chevy high performance. Looks sweet. Says power is about 650 700 and 900 on spray. Also says guys are pushing 1600 on pump gas. 15k for a short block. Ahhhhh this is one more option tooling around in my head. I think im gonna do a forged kit with a procharger and spend the 15k or more an a z06.
