good budget freindly forged pistons?
I am looking for a good set of budget freindly set of forged pistons with rings for my stock c.i. ls1/ls6 block. I am wanting to keep or raise the stock compression ratio and something with moderate valve relief. Any sugestions?

If you're wanting to use stock rods you'll need something with a .940 pin and a compression height for 6.098/6.100 rods. Also they would need to say 3.898 bore or so. I wouldn't recommend just "dropping in" a new set of pistons. You should take your block to a machine shop and let them hone it to proper size at a minimum. Also you are going to lose a little compression going to a flat top with reliefs just FYI. There's hardly any decent pistons options for the true stock bore size. Most are set up for 3.902/3.903/3.905 area. You might check and see what Mahle has if you truly just want to drop a set in.

What piston head volume(+/- cc) and style(flat,dome,dish) should i look for if i want up the compression?

stated that using a piston w/reliefs will lower the compression.(the reliefs
usually ADD about 3-5 cc of volume)...Definitely have the block honed out
to 3.903 or 3.905 to start with a fresh bore when changing pistons/rings.
Also rebalance the crank since the weight of the new pistons will most likely
differ from stock(434grams)

I will also take the block in and have it honed out to a 3.905. I wish i could have it punched out to a 4.00. Thank you for your help!

-cc means it's dished or has valve reliefs so no you don't really want to look for pistons that have -cc's if you're wanting to bring the compression up. However, when you go forged, most pistons will at least have valve reliefs so you will mostly find -2.00cc or so. The bigger the -cc number, the bigger the dish.

Wont work, those pistons are .945 pin and the rods you chose are .927. For those prices you might as well get the Wiseco +12cc dome pistons and have some of the dome machined off to get the exact compression you want. And Compstar H-Beams, would be the same price basically. Also I don't think the Manley pistons come with the rings where the Wiseco's do. So it would probably be cheaper to go with the better Wiseco's anyways.
