Question Part name

Anyone know what the part name and # is for the plate that is under the intake manifold? Trying to find the one that has the thin tube to catch the oil to eliminate the oil consumption. Thanks in advance.

Ok the valley cover, anyone happen to know the part # for the one that has the thin tube to catch the oil? The LS1s are just flat underneath, while these newer ones have a black tunnel to catch the oil underneath the cover with the thin tube on top.

What is the purpose of the 2 openings for the ls6 valley cover as compared to the ls2 valley cover? Which would be better to get for an LS1? Thanks again.

LS6 is a Gen III and has knock sensors......LS2 is a Gen IV and has none.

I believe all LS engines have knock sensors.

Everything you might need to know about the LS6 PCV swap is here:

I was thinking that also but..... the link he posted showed the LS2 with no holes for sensors.

Those threads indicate that LS2s do have knock sensors, but they located on the side of block rather than in the valley cover.

Regardless of the sensors.. Another thing to note, the GenIV valley cover (LS2) wont fit a Gen III LS1/LS6. You will need the ls6 cover if you want the tube.

And just an FYI for the op or anyone else ,,,,,,,,,,,pretty much anything You need part #'s for or just good general info concerning the LS engine platform or any engine or just about any info period and You can't find it on LS1- Tech just Google and presto a wealth of info at You're finger-tips . LS1-Tech is a great source for info but I would'nt rely on it soley .
