Im thinking im leaning toward the vrx4 i have researched many cams on youtube and other places. I think its the closest to the total package for what i want. Do you think it would work with a set of trick flows? and thanks for all the suggestions everyone

Yes, I think it is one of the cams Vengeance uses with their H/C package. If you are planning on H/C and are leaning towards their cam I would give them a call about getting the package from them.

i have the vrx5 in my camaro and it works awesome, it has the nice choppy idle plus the power. it seems to start creating power around 2500 rpm tho but all in all i like the cam

vrx4 is a 228-230 with 588-592 lift so power everywhere. do a search on it "228-230 dyno". some nice numbers on it. so many cams out there can make it hard for me to decide so i try to go with what proven and will meet my needs and wants. good luck with your project.

More sound...
Cam: .238/.242, .595/.595, 12 LSA
Cam Range: 1,050 rpm to 6,800 rpm. Rev limiter 6,500
Cam Power range: Peaks at 5,000.
Gears: Moser 9-inch, 4.56 gears, Detroit Locker, 31-spline axles,
Headers: Hooker Long Tubes. Off-Road Y-Pipes. No EGR. Loudmouth 1 exhaust
Tires & Wheels: Stock WS6. Rear tires are photoshop (not real).
Over-sized widths can be made to work with off-sets and customizing (hammer) fender wells.

In conjunction with the 4.56s, the rev limit in 1st gear is quicker than a heart beat. It revs so fast, the tachometer can't keep up. It lags so far behind the actual rpm that it's useless in 1st and 2nd gear.

Now you can see how much a set of tires can improve the beauty of your LS1. If you're not impressed with the looks, you can spend your money on mods that are more important to you. I'm springing for a clutch setup for my next outlay and i'm for going the tires.

Now that you've seen how the fat tires will look on your ride, who is going to be the first of us to go for that look?

You could try a Cam Motion 228/232 .612/.612 113+4. It's a good cam

Just do a custom cam like this: 227(.614")/227(.614") 110 lsa +3 with CompCams LSL lobes(7* overlap). At .200" lift it's like a 230/230 XER lobe cam, so you can still benefit from using these lobes over the XER lobes even if your heads can't flow great above .600" valve lift. For a power band a little closer to what you want go with a 223/227 110lsa +3 w/LSL lobes (w/5* 0verlap), which will still have a very nice cam sound.
http://www.texas-speed.com/p-161-com...-camshaft.aspx

It'll sound very similar to mine(227/231 111 lsa+2 w/lsl lobes w/7* overlap).
