For a power band a little closer to what you want go with a 223/227 110lsa +3 w/LSL lobes (w/5* 0verlap), which will still have a very nice cam sound.

It'll sound very similar to mine(227/231 111 lsa+2 w/lsl lobes w/7* overlap).

99 Blu - How is the valvetrain noise with that cam & LSL lobes? Assume you are running dual springs?

Valve train noise is present since my cam swap, but not excessive. Perhaps less than or equal to solid lifters.

In the late sixties, the sound of solid lifters were 'bragging rights'.

Mine's noisy, but my tuner has told me that if I put my stock rockers back on it, it would be a lot quieter and the dual spring contribute more noise than if I had single springs also.
The LSL lobes aren't any noisier than the XE-R lobes, at least the ones I've heard.
You don't have to run dual springs, you could run PAC 1518(good for .650" lift).
A lot of people run duals just for the added margin of safety . Just make sure you set the spring height at 1.8" w/PAC1518s.

BTW, supposedly the quietest cams are those with the EPS
lobes.

99Blu - Thanks for the info. I also heard duals contribute to valvetrain noise.

Does anyone know what a good duration and lift for a 402 ls2 would be?
