Default Teach me about my 98 Block

Been looking into a H/C/I swap and heard somethings about the 98 block.
What is a safe RPM to turn and what should I worry about?
Or anything else you can think of.

I don't want to spin mine higher than 6600 with stock rod bolts. Others have done more and been fine, some have had issues spinning less.

It's a gamble.

Ran 6500 for years, ran 6800 for a few months then spun a bearing and threw a rod. Results may vary, get ARP or Katech rod bolts and never worry about that part again. Actually come to think about it, I just bounced off the limiter of 6800 on a fun run and next day spun the bearing...

What would be invovled in putting them in?
Just remove oil pan
Remove stock bolts
Put in ARP?

That is not actually the correct way to change rod bolts. Most problems you see with guys here is they put ARP's or Katechs in without having the rods checked and resized (if necessary) with new bearings. Then they spin a bearing a few miles later. You really should do it the right way or else don't bother changing them IMO.
