I just replaced my lifters and now I have a tick from the valves. I double checked the valves when I tq them down. And now when it warms up it starts to tick loud, but it only does it after it's warmed up. Any ideas or input as to what it might be?

 

There's more info waiting to be posted...what cam are you running, and what lifters did you install?

 

Stock lifters, and a comp cam .617/.620 lift

Those are likely your problem. The taller cam has a shorter base circle, which must be accommodated via longer pushrods or adjustable rockers.

Do some reading here on pushrod length measurement and give it a shot.

 

That's what my buddy said that it might be. But if it was push rod leight wouldn't it do it as soon as it started and not after it warms up? I was looking around by the header and couldn't see anywhere where it looked like it was leaking.

 

Consider how a hydraulic lifter works by using engine oil to create hydraulic pressure on the lifter's plunger. The oil thins as it gets up to operating temperature, enabling the plunger to bleed down faster during lobe lift. This creates lash and accompanying noise, if the plunger isn't held at optimum depth by the pushrod.

Get a $20 Comp measuring tool and you'll find what you need.
