Default ZO6 243s much better than LS2 243s?

How much do the lightweight valves benefit power? Im looking to buy some 243s and put in a small cam but are the ZO6 heads worth double the money of the other 243s?

The lightweight valves may be worth more if you follow through with the lightweight concept in terms of valve springs and other components. Many builds negate the advantage of the lighter valves by installing double springs.

Yes, assuming no one changed them out.

2006 corvettes did not come with the LS6 but the LS2, thus that should answer your question.

I would be running a beehive, nothing about my plans would require a dual spring. Planty of guys are making 400 with 220 or 224 cams and stock LS6 heads, thats all im looking for now.

There are a lot of other benefits using the lighter valves than just "more power".

Better valvetrain stability at high rpm, longer spring life, and allowance for tighter PTV clearances are a few more reasons to use them.
