flywheel bolts keep turning. am i screwed
Back Story. Putting an 05 LM7 in a 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ. Was bolting up the flywheel. When Torquing them to spec, Two of the bolts "loosened" and kept spinning. Am I totally screwed now? What should I do?
Thanks in advance.

If you did strip the crank, you can helicoil the threads...but with a little luck you just trashed the bolts, though I think you probably will find you damaged both.
If the bolts are too short, you'll run into this...were you re-using stock flexplate bolts from the truck on the new flywheel? Usually a flywheel has a thicker flange at the crank, necessitating longer bolts.

I would be more inclined to use something like this on a striped flywheel bolt on the crank. http://www.timesert.com/ I know a helicoil should do the job, but a time sert is a little better at bitting and holding. I would only want to do this once for me taking a chance with a helicoil on a part that is as crucial as a flywheel bolt is not something I would want to skimp on.

We heil coil head bolt holes in blocks, I have seen reman short blocks straight from CAT come like that. If done correctly, they work. Those inserts are good too, just have to drill a bigger hole

Tell us more about the bolts you used-like where they came from. What did you torque them to?
