Default New AFR 210 LSX heads

Just wanted to give some props to Tony Mamo and the crew at AFR for a truely outstanding product, got my new AFR 210's turn up this week and had Tony spec me a cam to suit, we decided to flow bench the 210's to see what sort of numbers they produced and were blown away when they flowed more EVERYWHERE in the lift range than what they advertise, 8 cfm more at .600!! gonna put them on and get it tuned this week on the superflow to see what sort of hp/tq it will produce, cheers Tony for your help mate, these things are bad *** and my ute is gonna lay rubber

decided to get into it this weekend, im posting something a bit different than a lot of the lovely F bodys and T/A's all you folks have, its a production HSV R8 ute that we get over here and powered by the LS1 and T56 6 speed, pulled the engine yesterday and freshened up the bottom end with some ACL race bearings and ARP rod bolts, put in the new 228/228 114 cam, melling ported oil pump, and a double row rollmaster timing kit to hold it together, tomorrow will be fitting the new AFR 210 heads and ARP head stud kit, comp ultra gold roller rockers, manley chromoly push rods, LS6 intake and ported TB, RAMJET OTR and re-wiring for mafless setup anways a couple of pics of the engine block back in waiting for the top end to go on.....

there are a lot of people who think they are good tuners, but only really a few that are any good and produce good results, the guy doing mine studied and worked in california, and builds and tunes the V8 super cars here along with all the top running marathon jet boats and the like, will be interesting to see the end result which wont be too far away

alright, managed to get the engine buttoned up and on the dyno, we ran into a few issues while doing the power runs with clutch slippage, despite the **** house clutch not doing what it should we still saw a 30% power increase, its still running the factory injectors, fuel pump and the restrictive 75mm factory throttle body which was also limiting the power output somewhat, despite that, even on the partial tune, i ended up with something that is an absolute beast on the street and and delivers a mammoth **** eating grin every time its driven, its so damn responsive and drivable, every time you mash the loud pedal at anywhere in the RPM range it squats down and sinks your *** in the back of the seat, its punchy as hell and super super responsive with the throttle and just such a **** load of fun to drive, i hit Tony a p.m. to start with telling him what i wanted, he told me what i needed and its exactly what i got and some, Tony is THE man, next on the list ill be getting Tony to port me a 102mm FAST intake and coupling it with a 102mm throttle body, some bigger injectors and fuel pump, but not before i replace the clutch again anyways, i highly recommend anybody thinking of doing a head/cam swap, to shoot Tony a p.m. first, the end results will be a smile from ear to ear everytime you turn the key, cheers Tony you are a legend!! here's a couple pics of the dyno results before and after, its still only a partial tune and needs a bit more work as there are a couple of dips that need sorting but the clutch needs replacing before it goes back on the rollers.

couple more pics

Matt (the OP) and I have discussed shipping a ported FAST 102 to the land down under.....LOL

That should definitely help extract some more from the combo and make it even more explosive on the street as well

It will be interesting to see the gains from a ported 102/102 on here and how it effects the shape of the power curve.

Cheers,
Tony

You should see a really nice bump in TQ with a better clutch in it!
BTW, beautiful ride!
I sure wish we had those over here in the US!

Hey mate, its set at 950 rpm, but once the tune is completed will prob drop it down another 100 rpm to 850, and likewise, nice to see our little piece of land represented by another member too
