Default Building forged engine, need advice on some components

I'm building a forged LS1 engine for a mild FI setup. Probably around 600WHP. Current SB has 75,000 miles on it, bone stock except for SC. I'm considering several upgrades for reliability and durability.

New rings, plasma moly, Total seal, Hellfire?

Replacing valvesprings, LS6, 918, patriot dual?

Lifters, Comp cams, LS7?

Timing set, comp cams, LS2, C5R?

The only other thing I might do besides an oil pump is throw in an LS6 cam. I have an old TSP ported LS6 pump that I never installed when I did a cam swap on my Camaro. Is that any good? I think the bearings being considered are all Clevite, King, and durabond.

Cost is an issue here, otherwise I would at least be throwing an LS2 402 back in there, but I don't want to be pennywise and pound foolish.

I would go for total seal or the hell fire rings.

Patriot dual springs.

I have had good luck with both comp and ls7 lifters, The ls7 lifters are quieter than the comps.

I have a double roller but the general consensus is the double is over kill. I used a ls2 chain in my 5.3L rebuild and its a nice heavy duty chain.

My tsp ported ls6 oil pump has been top notch. 80 psi hot oil pressure at WOT.

Have you bought the ls6 cam? Are you going to go used or new ?

On my daily driven forged setup im running...

Hellfire Rings, Callies Compstar Rods, Diamond Forged Pistons, Forged Crank, LS7 lifters with LS2 lifter trays, Ported LS6 oil pump and a double roller.

As far as valve springs go, I am using Comp 921s. On the previous motor i had Patriot Dual Gold Extremes and after about 5000ish miles i had the number 7 intake spring snap and the number 2 exhuast had a crank forming... Maybe I just got a bad batch of springs but it made me run the Comps for the current build, expensive yes but I hear nothing but good things about them.

As far as a cam goes maybe one around the specs for an LS6 would do you right, however I havent really messed with FI stuff and I'm sure there is someone out there with more knowledge on FI cam combos/results.

GL.

I'd look for a can with a longer exhaust duration like a 224/230, stay under .600" lift, throw a good set of springs in and they will last a long time, and go with a wider lsa like a 116.

I run and recomend the King bearings and Melling oil pump, but since you have the perestroika ls6, good ahead and run it...there is nothing wrong with them either.

This really isn't a search for more power. I just want to build a stronger engine. I would only swap in an LS6 cam because they are cheap enough to not really affect the cost of the build.

Dealership just quoted me $35 a piece for LS7 lifters.

Yes, forged rods and pistons. I just didn't feel like I needed to ask about them, but they will be Diamond pistons and some kind of Callies rods I'm sure. Do I really need to worry about h beam, i beam, comp star or not at for this kind of power or does it not really matter at this point?

Ok so I'm thinking maybe replace the springs with a new set of LS6 springs, Hellfire rings, TSP oil pump, Comp Timing set, Comp lifters., Diamond pistons and callies rods.

What kind of rods do I need for this build? I beam or H beam?

Are most of the premier bearing manufacturers going to be good enough?

Update:

Engine will be going back together soon.

Same A&A Vortech V3 kit
New (used) LS1 block
Diamond -2cc pistons with anodized coating
Total Seal rings
Callies Compstar rods (with arp 2000 bolts I assume?)
ARP head bolts
Comp lifters
LS6 cam
TSP oil pump
Rollmaster double roller set
Norris catch can
Gutted cats
Borla Stinger cat back (hmmm, may be a little raspy)

Sound ok?

I'm still going to replace the valvesprings, but not sure what I will use yet. Builder is recommending a set of 918s. I know the pressure would be fine, I would just prefer the insurance of a dual spring. I hear all kinds of stuff about broken 918s, but I don't actually recall any of them failing on stock cams. Picking up another block and getting the pistons coated blew my budget off a bit so I have a little less to throw at other upgrades. Every other component is dead stock, apart from the A&A kit LOL. I'm thinking I will increase boost to maybe 9lbs for an even 600hp?

PAC 1218, or Comp 918 beehive springs...well worth the money, and if you go slightly bigger on your cam later you can still run the same springs

What about the Patriot duals? I think its pretty much the weakest dual spring I can get, which is good because I don't really want super high pressures. Just enough to control the valves with a stock cam and added boost pressure insurance of a dual spring. I know PP used to have some spring problems, but they have been resolved for a while, right?

ls7 lifters as a set are $130 (16)

but individually they are $30 each (1)

doesnt make sense but thats how they package them..

My shortblock is :

04 ls6 block
Stock crank
Eagle H beam rods
ARP 2000 rod bolts
diamond -2cc pistons
Total seal rings (steel top ring)

Does anyone retail the PACs or are they all direct? They're springs are pretty pricey too, but I know they are pretty popular now. So far I'm looking at:

PRC dual kit
http://www.tickperformance.com/preci...le-spring-kit/

PP dual kit
http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...gory_Code=C159

Vengeance dual kit
https://www.vengeancerd.com/ecart/pr...l-Springs-Kits

Does anyone do a PAC kit for comparison? The other 3 come with Ti retainers as well. I have this feeling that the PACs are probably the best quality and the strongest, but I'm thinking pretty much decent dual is already way overkill for a stock LS6 cam and <10lbs.

The PRCs do seem like the best compromise between quality and price to me.
