Default Do I have everything I need to install this cam?

Hey, so far I've gotten the following things:

Comp 227/227 .599/.599 111LSA
918 springs
titanium retainers
Thunder gasket set
Thunder pushrods
Rollmaster timing chain

Do I need anything else to install this cam? My oil pump seems to be excellent. I get almost 80 PSI at WOT. I don't want to mess up a good thing. I realize the springs might not hold it, if they won't I'll go with some drop-in Revs. Anything I'm missing?

Crank bolt, and now might be a good time to upgrade to an underdrive pulley.

You have a 2002 so you don't need any gaskets but you will need a couple of dabs of permatex for the bottom corners of the timing chain cover... It is a pretty easy job. Good luck with it...

As far as parts it seems you have it all except the crank bolt.

this is kind of a stupid question but, i am curious as to why you have to change the crank bolt during a cam swap. i have done many cam swaps on sbc's before and i have never had to change the crank bolt unless something was wrong with it.

I already have a crank bolt, forgot to list it in Thunder's package.

I'll be sure to post up how it idles with stock tuning. Maybe I can get by for a while by just drilling the TB and raising the idle.

i hate to be ignorant but my question is still not answered. why cant the crank bolt re-used???
it is a pretty heavy duty bolt right?? especially when you compare it to a sbc crank bolt.

It's something to do with the nature of the bolts used. They are stress bolts that are not to be reused. The head bolts are also like this. I'm no engineer so I cant tell you science's reason why the bolts are to be used only once, sorry.
