Default Are 241 and 243 head valves interchangeable?

Like the title states I have a set of bare 243 heads and a set of complete 241 heads, can I use the valves from the 241 heads in the 243 heads? I know they are the same sizes 2.00" intake and 1.55" exhaust, but are the angles the same? I plan on having a valve job done on the 243 heads anyway, just trying to save some money if I can.

I've been wondering the same thing, but with swapping valves from a set of 317's to 799's. They (799, 317, 241, and 243) are all listed with the same valve size, but that is the measurement at the head of the valve. I wonder what the valve lengths are, and the valve stem diameters???

Based on the replacement part listings for the 241s and 243s both the intake and exhaust valves are identical - excluding, of course, the LS6 valves particular to LS6-243s.

I just compared mine today as a matter of fact. I have a stock set of 241 and a set of Z06 243s. The valves in my Z06 243s are the sodium filled/hollow valves and are of course lighter, but the only visual difference I could see on them is the top of the valve stem is longer. I am talking about the part above where the locks go on. This to me accounts for the little bit longer valve in the 243s, but otherwise they are the same size. Hope this helps and is not too confusing.

Has anyone done this? Seems like a great way to save a few bucks.

Yes they are interchangeable. Thing is you'll need a valve job which includes lapping the valves.

I put ZO6 243 valves in my 241s....they are exactly 0.0236" longer
This will change your push rod/lifter preload as does milling the head.

But when they do fit does the extra length cause any interference issues Say with a big cam lift/duration and dome top pistons??

Perhaps you should study a bit more about engine design, operation.

I need all the info i can, U should school me a bit, I've read before that lift doesn't play a part in ptov clearance, then I've read that the right length pushrods need to be used then then that duration/lsa come into play.

See that is why i said what i said. This is not a SBC and should not be treated as such.

on ls1 engines, push-rods adjust mostly lifter pre-load.
length of valves affect wipe pattern by rockers, so rocker stand might need shimming to center the wipe again.
