Pro Comp, however, is notorious for having issues with material composition as well as machining QC in some of their other products, such as cylinder heads. Gambling the health of the engine to save about $50 is a foolish choice.
I don't know...I have heard good things about their heads. I really don't honestly think Pro-comp makes any of their stuff anyways. Its all re-branded stuff like Summit or JEGs house brands.

I have a Pro-comp aluminum waterpump on my 350 and works just fine.

As for "needing" studs...I didnt need them, but they are easier on the threads of the block.
I would use the pro-comp studs if it was between bolts, but your right, high hp/boost. I would just stick with tried and proven ARP

I went with ARP studs too ONLY because like above, EBAY brand new for $200!

Although I think some people are ignorant when it comes to off shore products. Don't diss them, until you have used them.

Believe it or not, other people can and DO make good products.

On another note, ProComp added some info on their site about these studs....

"Dont forgot to get a set of head studs if you are going to be replacing or upgrading your cylinder head package, made from aircraft quality 8740 high tensile strength chromemoly steel, withstanding up to 190,000psi. the kit comes complete with 12 point hex nuts and washers."

Sounds like they might be worth a shot for the price.

I just got my car running a couple of weeks ago. Haven't had any problems with my studs and have hit 9+ lbs. Hoping they do alright when the car is fully tuned and the boost is turned up.

I found this interesting - There is a head stud set on eBay here that has these torque specs in the listing:

11-mm bolts torque is 52lbs
6-mm bolts torque is 19lbs
Bolt torque lube must be used

They aren't the ProComp studs but the torque spec is pretty low, at least compared to ARP which is 70 / 80 & 22. I'd be interested in seeing the torque spec for the ProComp studs. Also interested why LS88FoxBody torqued the 6mm bolts to 30 ft-lbs (I assume it was the small stud that broke).

Mine came with no torq specs. I messages the seller. He said stock specs. I dident really agree with this. So I had a pack of moly lube from a previous install on a stang. So I used the arp moly lube and specs. Had no trouble. My car is n/a. Haven't sprayed it yet. But if I have any trouble ill let y'all know. So far so good
