did it hit and bend, or when you pulled your heads (it was running good) you noticed contact marks. thats happens a LOT
your gona have to flycutt. The amount is up to you, the norm is .100, but alot of good race setup run fine with a LOT less. lol
If you measure it and map it out your see whats chasing, and whats getting chased. And thinking about what that means and what the MIN pTv numbers guy talk about your notice it makes sense of what the engine can have problems with these numbers.
Stock LS1 pistons I've cut .100 and been fine. I've heard guy going .120 on SBE with 200hp and no problens cutting. That spot on the crown doesn't have to be that thick, your melt it down or butt the ring and pop the land off. Before any piston damage form cutting alot

If you're going to cut that much off the deck, don't forget to get the shorter Push Rods while you're in there. My new pushrods needed to be shorter by the exact amount I milled the heads also subtracting the .01 for the thinner headgasket from stock thickness.(Not exactly shocking) - in your case, .050 shorter. ( .036 milling + .010 thinner gasket = .046) I suggest starting there.

I have the Lindy fly cutting tools and am doing it in my garage with a friend who has done it before. I am checking the PTV clearance. So please stop telling me that I have to, I know I do. I guess I was just looking for a starting point for the cuts and was going to go off measurements from there. Does anyone know how much I need to have milled off to get a 11.2:1 CR?
