Please help. Stripped threads

Default Please help. Stripped threads

One of the smaller head bolts, M8 - stripped out the threads in the block. Cannot tighten it down. Anybody know a simple solution for this? Remember this is the small top bolt on the heads. Thanks for any help.

A helicoil is a threaded insert. The original hole is drilled out a little, then tapped to the insert size. Insert is placed in block and now you've got a stronger base for the bolt to go in.

Any local auto parts store should stock heli coil kits.

You might have to goto a good hardware store to get the metric size you need.
