How long can you drive with blowby?
I rebuilt my motor last winter, new piston bearings, cam, ported heads. It was rich from the get go and ruined the rings. I have 7000 miles on it now and it uses oil, about 1 quart every 500 miles. I do get on it alot so that doesnt help.
I have had an oil leak, back of the pan somewhere, possibly main seal, not quite sure. I also have an oil leak from the oil level sensor, on the 3rd one. So all these leaks appear to be from too much crankcase pressure, is this possible?
How long can I drive the motor like this with the blowby? The oil gets dirty pretty quick. Any ideas on how much to rering and hone?

Did you put too much oil in it. How many liters do you put. The oil leak can be the oil sensor located behind the intake manifold. When I put too much oil in my car, the oil sensor started leaking and dripping to the rear main seal. So check that first. Also can be that you did not seat the seals properly when you got the engine done. Happened to me when I got my seals done, they leaked after six months. Then I took it to a more experienced shop and now they are fine.

Damn, another "gas washed the cylinders" engine......that sucks man.
Remove the PCV system. Put a breather on the oil fill cap and one on the rear drivers side valve cover, use the grommet for that one. Put one on the valley cover port too if you have an LS6 valley cover.
You're not gonna fix the blow-by without a rebuild and you probably should change the oil every 3,000 miles at a MAXIMUM. You'll be fine doing that and you'll have zero crankcase pressure.
I did this with my 427ci for its last 80,000 miles of life. It started blow-by like yours, maybe not quite as bad, at the 90,000 mile mark. Yup, it died 5 months ago at 173,000 miles and 10+ years old.
A disassembly, clean-up, rehone, new bearings, rings and gaskets should cost around $1,200. But shops usually charge $1,000 to R&R the damn engine.....
Might as well save a little more, by an LQ9 block and make a 370ci with forged pistons and rods, stock crank. Have a ~450+ RWHP, extremely reliable, head/cam engine for another $1,200. But it'll be good for 900 RWHP if you want to boost or spray it later......

I am going to check if anything is coming from the oil cap and do a compression test dry then add oil. I have not overfilled it, I put in 5.5 quarts, it uses oil so it tough to keep it in there. I am going to try the breather setup.
As far as leaks, its the oil level sensor, not oil pressure sensor leaking. It is also leaking on the back of the pan. I am going to pull the tranny back and see exactly where it is coming from.
I really am not in the mood to rebuild, just rebuilt the whole car last winter. I will try to squeak some miles out of this engine. I would like to have enough money next rebuild to get new headers and a fast intake.

It pretty much used oil from the get go. I believe it had a bad O2. On top of this I drove 300 miles before the tune. Now when they switched out injectors, some paint from my rails got into an injector and it went pig rich, couldnt figure it out so he tuned around it. I drove it like this for about 100 miles till i figured it out. Had to drive it back from the dyno.

That pretty much sums things up. If you are indeed getting blow-by out the breather cap then you have a problem that will need to be addressed at some point. How long it will last before a rebuild is anyones guess.
