Default Brian Tooley Platinum springs
I was wondering if the .660 springs would be too much for a MS3 where the max lift is .603/.609. Or will they need shimed?

if you are on stock rockers those springs will be to much

** allow me to correct myself. These are fine, its the max pressure that wouldnt be to good on stock rockers.

While I was at TFS we spintron tested those springs with a .600" lift cam and they actually performed the best. Springs with less open pressure had poor control, and springs with more open pressure actually pole vaulted the pushrods. The Platinum springs are only 380 lbs @ .600" lift which seems to be perfect for use with stock rockers, but they have great seat pressure to prevent valve bounce on the seat.
I emailed Brian and he replied back with this. Very good guy to deal with and email response was very fast which suprised me.

Because more pressure isnt always a good thing. The platinums are ok, I keep mixing them up with his max pressure spring which is to much for a stock rocker. Hows that?

Platinums work great with stock rockers. Just make sure the rest of the valvetrain is optimized. Don't go throwing LSK lobed cams in there with LS7 lifters and you'll be fine.

Define high lift?

You need at least LS2, LS3 or LS6 springs to run up to .560" lift.

If you want to run over .600" lift then you should consider dual springs.
