Compression ratio calculation
I'm in the process of piecing together parts for a Texas speed 408 and trying to figure out my CR. I once ran across a great thread that had all the information (head gasket bore, deck height etc...) I needed to calculate but can't find it now. I know the bore and stroke is 4x4 and my 241 chamber volume is 66.67cc. any help would be great.
Thanks

A lot of that depends on the specs of the 408 being built. Stock LS1 has -.006" deck height, 3.910" bore gasket, .054" gasket thickness, etc. What gaskets are you using? GM MLS? Cometic?
Did they deck the block? Most aftermarket builds have the pistons out of the hole -.010" when assembled.

This is the calculator I generally use:
http://www.csgnetwork.com/compcalc.html
A 408 stroker iron block will have a bore of 4.030" and a stroke of 4.000". Head gasket thickness if you use GM MLS gaskets is .051" and diameter will probably be 4.060". The deck height (piston out of the hole) for a stock LS engine is usually about -.006". You'll need the piston volume and combustion chamber size too.
