Thanks for the reply Martin. Didn't plan on going over 250. Traction sucked with 200 lol. Well see!

I ordered the SNS torque max stage 2 for LS1/LS6

Sounds awesome!!! Do you do your own tuning? I ask because I see the HPT sticker on the hatch glass.

They all work awesome with nitrous. If you're doing nothing but spraying nitrous all the time at the track or on the street I like to see a cut-off of around 200-250hp worth of jet for my N/A cams that aren't designed for heavy nitrous use. If you're wanting the car to run well on motor and on nitrous, but still want to spray a 200-250 shot, the Stage 3 camshafts are perfect. The LS1 Stage 3 TorqueMAX being what I would consider optimal for no less than 200-250 worth of nitrous jet.

Anything thing less than 200-250 worth of nitrous jet all of my N/A cams will work fine with.

Your cam is definitely not what I would consider a centrifugal blower camshaft at all. That doesn't mean you can't run your cam with a centrifugal though. Only one way to find out for sure!

It will be very interesting to see how fast you are able to go with this set-up.

Martin@Tick,

Do you good folks have an LS6 replacement camshaft as would be used with long tube headers? Something with similar power range but presumably fatter curves due to improved lobes and knowledge of LS1/LS6 workings.

Something to match a typical bolt-on LS1 or LS6(LS1 with 243s and LS6 intake) and full exhaust. etc.etc.

Basically what GM would do know if the engines were in production and there was an off-road version(no exhaust restrictions) avaialble.

Zack,

It was GREAT talking to you yesterday as well. I know you will be more than happy with your camshaft and the performance it provides. You have a good combination with good compression and cylinder heads. It will be a strong runner for sure.

I could do something custom for you that would meet your requirements. Shoot me an email to martin@tick-performance.com.

Awesome, the feeling of accomplishment you're going to get after finishing up the tune will be well worth the learning process.

so will the SNS torque max stage 2 LS1/LS6 be good for my application? I like the broad ranged and thought it would be the best choice. I just placed order so let me know!

You will be fine with that cam especially if you're under geared. I'd actually like to see what the LS1 Stage 2 would do with a 3600 stall as I normally spec the LS2 Stage 2 because of it's later closing intake valve event.

If you feel like being a guinea pig, let's keep this show on the road!

I will also be glad to swap you out cams when the LS1 Stage 2 gets there if you want to trade up to the LS2 Stage 2.

Edit:

I just saw you said you just placed your order. If that is so I am going to change your order to the LS2 Stage 2.

Your cam has already shipped from Comp unfortunately. I sent you a PM. Let me know what you'd like to do. I'm more than willing to accommodate your purchase and swap cams.

Would there be any benefit if he just ran the LS1 stage 2 with a 110 ICL (+0 ) or would the LS2 stage 2 still be the better option for him?

IMO no. The overlap ends up on the wrong side of TDC for my liking and he loses a lot of what makes the Stage 2 so appealing and that is it's extremely broad torque curve and higher cylinder pressures at low piston speeds.

I think he will be fine with the LS1 Stage 2, but I'm always willing to accommodate my customers wants even if it means us having to put a cam back on the shelf that we thought we had already sold to grind another cam that they want or need.
