Default What kind of rockers should I run with PRC 215s with bronze guides?

I have a set of PRC 215s on my 02 ss and slapped the stock rockers on the heads for the rest of the season last year since I finished my rebuild in July, almost August and was wondering what you guys thought about what rockers I should run with on these heads since the season is right around the corner.. Thanks in advanced for all your opinions/help!!!

with brass guides you really want to run a nice roller rocker like Harland Sharps or Yella Terra Ultra Lites. i have the YT Ultra lites and love them. nice and quiet, keep my drive train nice an stabilized with my high pressure springs.

With bronze guides, stock rockers and that cam I would be willing to bet your valve guides are worn quite a bit in 10K miles. I ran a smaller cam, Crane rockers, which have a better wipe than the stock rockers but not nearly as good as Yella Terra, for 8K miles and my guides were visibly worn. As the guides wear you will start using oil.

I had the wrong length pushrods in my car and wore the tops of the valves off and broke a inner valve spring on my 215s. I had about 6k miles on it and when I pulled the heads the guides were fine the valve tips however were demolished. This was with stock rockers. I do think a roller would be better for longtivity. I would have went to rollers all ready if it wasn't for all the stories of different brands breaking and I hate to spend 1500 bucks on Jesels.

I just talked to a gentleman by the name of Matt from Texas speed on the phone and he said them guys over there are fans of running the stock rockers with the comp cams retro fit trunion kit...now he said he wasn't opposed using aftermarket rockers like the yella Terra's or the Harland's, but more opinions wont hurt so I was hoping to get a little more feedback before I jump the gun on buying something for my set up. Thanks guys.
