Default Anyone running a Tick Street Heat cam?

I'm looking to top off my forged 347 build with a set of prc 2.5 5.3 heads and a cam tbd. I spoke with Martin at Tick, he recommended the Street Heat Stage 2 (231/238 | .61x”/.58x” | LSA113+3). Was just wondering if anyone has one and could offer driving impressions, idle clips, etc.

Thanks.

This customer's second outing at the track after the cam got him an 11.60 pass @116 in a full weight automatic 93mph in the eighth. 10.4:1 compression and very lightly ported 243 heads and stock ls6 intake/tb/maf slp lid, ory, corsa cat back. This was in a 6.0 bored .030 over. With a set of nicer heads, a full point of added compression or more and a fast intake this would be a low 11 high 10 second car all day long.

Thanks Martin, yeah I saw that vid - wasn't sure if there were some others floating around that I might have missed.

There are several running around here. Most of them have been sold during the winter and haven't had the chance to get their cars out yet. I expect that to change here soon with the nicer weather rolling in in a month or two.

Let me know if I can help any more!

Your cam eventually became the SNS Stage 3 "milder" version. Your cam is one I have done many times before and it worked so well that it became an "Elite Series" camshaft.

Sounds great. Never heard one of your cams in a F-Body.

That cam also only has 8.5 degrees of overlap so even though it has a nice chop to it, it will drive very nicely due to the lower amount of overlap compared to cams with more duration or a tighter LSA with similar duration numbers to the Stage 2.\

Just to explain why I chose that cam for the OP in case anyone is wondering or has a similar request or build constraints, the OP asked for an idle that wasn't really aggressive like some of the bigger SNS cams have, and like the Polluter has. He also wanted something that would make a ton of average and mid-range power and this cam will do just that due to the earlier EVO event and by not going crazy with the IVC event. A guy referred to the torque curve of this cam once as "a tea cup" lol.

I just got Martin's SNS Torque Max 2 cam this past weekend and can't wait to get it installed with my AFR heads. You can't go wrong with Tick Peformance and Martin. He's been a great guy to work with.

Thanks for the kind words! I can't wait to see your results, I think you're going to really be blown away how much power it makes for a "227 cam".

My buddy gave them to him in a box with all my stuff for my heads he said then I asked my builder and he said there were no pushrods and my buddy wouldn't steal the pushrods I think he had just misplaced them and yeah shipped them to me with my cam kit in Late November lol

That is a cam-only GTO with headers, exhaust and vararam intake with a M6. Doesn't get more "cam-only" than that. This car is coming back in the next month or two to have his heads sent off to Advanced Induction for their 226cc CNC work and he just bought a Fast 92 or 102 intake to go with it. Should be a solid 470-475rwhp/415-420rwtq when we get done with awesome street-ability.

I don't have one for the stage 2, but I have one for a 223/235 110+3 cam if that will suffice.

It has 3.91's I believe if that sounds correct for a goat. Very fun to drive.

The GTO's have the M12 geared transmissions so 1-3 are closer. I'm pretty sure that should explain alot of why it's still fun to drive...
