Default 6.0 heads cam info needed

just picked up a 6.0 lq9 motor with the flat top piston... I have a pair of 241 heads laying around that im gonna p&p and put new valves and springs on, a ls6 intake and a 80 mm tb, wanna trow a decent cam into it without having to cut the valve reliefs into the pistons,,, which cam can i run to make this happen and still get around 500 crank hp?? And is so what is the max the haeds can be milled to incase they need to be milled.... Remember i know that if it doenst need to be milled then i def wont... Too much comp wont be good for 93.. Soo what advice u guys have fore me

Ditch the 241s and start with some 243s instead. Quality valvejob, slight mill for flatness (and 11:1 CR) wiyh a medium cam in the mid 220s and you will easily hit your power goals.

Get the 241s ported cnc'd by AI, no mill. Keep stock valves they will be enough for your goals. Then any low 230 duration cam should get you there.

Like predator said, no mill. I'm running an lq9 with stock heads with the comp lsr-273. I got around .08 intake and .1 exhaust clearance. Idk if 241's sit different or not.

If your confident in whoevers porting your heads they will be great. Im using 862 casting heads ported that flow 300cfm, a 238/240 .605/.610 112 (in a 6.0l bored .030 over) and a fast 102. I believe theres a sticky here that claims once ported 241s and 243s have no difference.

243's have smaller combustion chamber than 241's. That's the only difference in ported version. Are you running that cam with stock pistons, no valve reliefs.

That cam is on par with the ms3 cam. I've heard hit and miss stories with the ms3 on stock pistons. Bet you have a nice sounding engine. I can barely hear the rumble of mine.

Still assembing it lol... 2002slpsscamaro, although donkey dick cams have a special place in these engines, if you want a good street/strip car a 233/239 cam would be a good choice. People say youll be a dog down low but who ever races below 2500rpm?

The biggest thing for me in not having to do valve reliefs... Its a pain i dont feel like having to do... Soo anyone have an idea if the 241s with a 0.05 mill and a ms3 or v3 will still have ptv clearance??... No doubt it will make the power but i just worry about the clearance

the ms3 won't fit if you mill .050 .listen to PRED-Z ,and get a cam spec from AI.

Putting some #s together for a budget build, using the parts I have and buying as little as possible.
Goal is a strong running, smooth idle engine for my 78 corvette, going to use the carb set up, and sticking with my 700r tranny I just got. Its a daily driver.

This is where I am at, haven't pulled the trigger yet, and would like some input from you guys as this is my first ls engine build.

Summit has a .30 over 6.0 block for 675 bucks and I live next door, no shipping.
Set of speed pro pistons .30 over http://www.summitracing.com/parts/su...make/chevrolet

Parts I have from a 2002 Ls1
Crank
Rods
Heads
Cam

Will the flat top pistons put me around 10.5 compression?

With new bearings this will put me around $1000 to $1100 for a 6.0 long block.
