Prc stg 1 heads or prc 5.3 stg 2.5 heads?
Kinda like the title says which head would give me better track gains matched with a gm hot cam?
The car is a 01 ws6 T/A with bolt ons and 3.73s.

From what I have read the stg 1 ls6 heads make more up top and the 5.3's make more under the curve. Both should be within 5hp of each other. Ill be running the stg 2.5 5.3's with a 228R this spring.

I called TSP and asked them the same question. Basically he said the heads are a toss-up, within 5hp. He didn't say which one would provide more hp but I assume it would be the LS6 head since the intake flows a little better. I went with the LS6 heads for upgradeability plus I didn't want to tell people I had truck heads on my Camaro LOL. I got mine through Tick since they were $75 cheaper.

We have both in stock. I like the LS6 style heads, but you will be happy with either IMHO!
Pricing on all PRC heads are M.A.T. everyone sells PRC parts for the same price, or they will be removed as a vendor.

I made 470whp on the setup mentioned above. Sure you can spend another 2000 dollars (installing a cam costs about $1200 when you are all done with valve springs, timing chain, etc. etc. and I spent 1700 on the TSP H/C package, so I considered the heads a good buy @ $500) and buy some Cartek heads like the Vette guy ended up doing, but when I put a FAST on my car and make another ~10whp more than him, I will enjoy that $2000 I just saved...

LS1T56FTW, are you saying you made 470 rwhp with 5.3s/LS6 intake/mild cam?
I call generous dyno BS.

Unmilled PRC Stage 1 LS6 heads vs unmilled PRC Stage 2.5 5.3 heads, the PRC Stage 2.5 5.3 heads have smaller chambers, thus creating more compression. More compression is more power. Also, the PRC Stage 1 LS6 heads have stock valves and springs...
In equal combinations I wouldn't say the LS6 heads make more power, but it's more of a wash. Personally I think you get more heads for the price with the PRC Stage 2.5 5.3's. Just my .02 cents.
