im about to swap a melling stock volume high pressure one real soon. as long as you dont get the crappy 1998-2000 oem pump is fine. The stock ones from that year are known to fail. Hence the swap ill be doing

Melling states that engines with increased bearing clearance may require the HV/HP pump.

2) Melling It's a High quality pump and it's like extra insurance so you won't have to go back in the engine and replace it like I did.
3) Not really unless you have low oil level, I have the HV and I have pushed my car to 160 mph and the oil pressure stays pretty good.
