Default What works with these lifters, So confused

This is my first time removing heads and changing lifters. I have morel solid roller 5452's. Do factory rockers with the trunion kit work with these lifters. I have stock heads with a trex V2 cam. Heads are on and torqued. I got an awesome deal on these lifters thats why I used them. If factory rockers do work how do I find the proper pushrod lentgh? Heard factory rockers will work and heard i need adjustable rockers!!!

You need an adjustable push rod to find the proper push rod length

I got a comp adjustable PR length checker and it checks out right at 8.00 with factory lifters. But I need to know if Factory rockers can be run with solid lifters.

morel 5452 solid lifters are .600 shorter than factory lifters. I thought the same thing till I found the specs between the two. In fact i got worried for a bit.

You can run solid lifters on some of the extreme lobes like LSK since they might as well be solid roller anyway. But you need an adjustable rocker to set lash. With solid lifters, you don't set preload. You set valve lash. You get the pushrod to start opening the exhaust valve of the #1 cylinder and then you can adjust the intake valve lash with an adjustable rocker. Set it .020" (measured with a feeler gauge) and then torque it down.

It'd probably work pretty well with a hydraulic camshaft, but the lash is a TOTAL swag since the mechanical/solid roller cams indicate valve lash.

Yeah. I'd start around .010" and work your way up to .030" cold on the valve lash and see how it runs. It'll expand about .006" as it gets hot.
