Default Heads/Cam Package suggestions wanted.

My 02 SS A4 wants to go faster. She keeps telling me that, so I , of course, want to oblige.

Her current state...

Blackwing Lid
LS6 intake/block
BBK Longtubes and Y
No cats
SLP Catback
CME Exhaust

I have no idea what kind of power she is putting down right now. Not a clue... lol.. I would guesstimate maybe 330rwhp?! Maybe im off, who knows. She runs great though...

Anyways, I would really like to put about 440rwp down, and then spray 100-150..

For a grand total of <drumroll> 575ish hp.

So, Will a head/cam package get me there? If so, make this dummy proof for me. What package?

What I want to do.

There are a lot of great vendors on here that can set you up with a kickass setup, I personally would call Martin @ Tick Performance and he'll get you headed in the right direction. Tick also has the best customer service that I've ever dealt with.

I havent looked into many of the vendors yet, but for some reason I thought Tick was a transmission place?

I'm looking at doing the same thing! I have settled with TFs215s and either the street heat stg2 or tourquemax stg2 from Tick. I'm leaning towards the tourquemax but I really don't know! Give Martin a holler and he will help you out!

Yea they do transmissions too, but lately they have been putting out some great numbers with streetable cams. Martin really knows what he is talking about and can set you up with the perfect cam. For heads I went with TEA stage 2 ls6 heads and I've been extremely happy with them. Advanced Inductions also has a badass CNC program for ls6 heads.

The mods in my sig would be what you would look at. On a dynojet it would probably read 440 or more...

This is what was in your sig:

"Pewter-01-SS-A4
TEA ls6 stage 2 62cc~Comp 228/232 112~Fast 92mm Intake~NW 92mm TB~SLP Smooth Bellow~GM 85mm MAF~FTP 98mm Lid~K&N Filter~SSRA~ARH LTS & ORY~Borla CB~Powerbond 25% Balancer~160 T Stat~Yank SS3600~Motive 3.73~MT DRs~MWC Bumper Supports~Slowhawk Tuned
429/392 Mustang dyno
11.149@122.82 1.661"

Guys, please put your mods down in a post. Sigs change over time. There's nothing more frustrating that reading a build or spec thread a couple years later and seeing "mods in my sig", with nothing in the sig or a totally different car or something.

Rant over. Carry on, gents.

Are my goals doable with keeping the LS6 intake, and staying N/A? I really dont want to put out the coin for a FAST intake if I dont have to.

Procharger would be great.

$5k not so great.

440 is a lot easier than you think.

**Edit - Just saw the BBK's with the 2.5" collectors and the 2.5" Y. Might be a bit harder**

What's your budget? Are you looking at stock casting heads or aftermarket?

You'll want a stall, first and foremost. 3600 at least.

Keeping the LS6 intake or getting a FAST? There's no simple way about it. Is she a daily driver?

MORE INFO!

Budget would be about 2k for heads and cam. Id like to keep the LS6 intake.

Stock castings, or aftermarket I really have no preference as long as I get to my goal.

A stall is doable, as long as it maintains good street manners.

I edited my post. Just saw the BBK's...

And par for the course, AI (Advanced Indiction) 241's and a matching cam from Phil. Fully assembled heads ready to go, with a cam that compliments them.

I've yet to see a car break 440 with the aforementioned headers / Y though. But the 241's he does are a VERY capable head.

Ok. How do you know?

The collectors are 2.5" and each leg of the Y is 2.5". The portion of the Y, the merge, that goes into your catback is 2.75"

I do stand corrected on the +440 with BBK's.
This is with a 6.0 though....

440 isn't too hard with an M6... pretty much any decent head, 230 duration cam, FAST, and 1-7/8" headers will get you into that range. Getting into the 450+ range with an A4 becomes a little trickier especially when a high stall and something like a 9" or equivalent rearend.

My sig will provide you a recipe for 450+ and if you're willing to amp up the cam a bit (which I might do), EPS 234/242 .602/.605" 112+3 or equivalent would rock and make 470 achievable at the expensive of some drivability.
