Default Grim Reaper strikes twice

I believe from the way my engine stopped today while road racing, I have had the misfortune of busting my 2nd dual timing chain.
Car was due to go into a workshop on the 5th Aug for a Cam swap & ATI Damper,
Clutch also went to the floor then came back, noticed a few drops of clutch fluid under car in the pits, hoping it's a line leaking & not the slave.

Had the soul destroying ride home with the car on the back of a tow truck & all the Mums/Dads & kids coming home from school holidays looking & pointing at it, haha hate that **** lol.

All donations greatly accepted.

Guess my weekend ride will be down for a long while now.

Damn. You have terrible luck man. I have never heard of any timing chain failures.

Most of the timing chain failures that I have heard about happened while road racing. A chain dampener will help to prevent chain failure. If you do not have a block that is not tapped for one Trick Flow makes a bracket that you can use to mount a chain dampener on the older blocks.

Now this is what I needed to hear as my blocks not tapped for a damper. Hoping there's not to much damage inside, last time the chain just dropped when it broke & think it did the same this time as there was no loud noises, the engine just cut out. Hopefully the chain didn't go slapping around causing mayhem.
Cheers

The chain is the least or your worries. Piston to valve contact is what you need to concern yourself with. Hope you didn't break anything up too bad.

Power Bond 25% ud pulley is what is causing this with me road racing on occasion.
An ATI super damper & stg 3 Tick Perf cam was due to be installed 5th Aug. Still is but now heads off, valves etc. Also hope the clutch slave is not leaking.

I've also seen this with powerbond dampers on 2 occasions on an offroad race truck.

It goes into the workshop on the 5th Aug, hopefully they will take some pics as it's awkward for me to get to their place, I work slightly longer hours than them & they don't open Saturdays.
I am going to have to work my butt off to pay for this repair.
