Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft - 224/224 .563/.563 112 LSA?
Anyone have this camshaft installed? sound good? Also is there anything else i need to do to my car after installing this? do i need a tune? I have a 2000 WS6 6 speed with hooker headers and corsa exhaust. thanks.
oh yea and i dont plan on getting heads anytime soon, will this be a problem or will i be fine just updating my cam? I really wanna keep my streetabilty but want alittle more HP.

I love mine! Great power everywhere throughout the powerband. I've been running mine for around 5K miles now and it's honestly been the best mod yet. I have my idle set at 875rpms via LS1 Edit and it produces a nice short lope, not hard at all to tell it's not the stock cam. When I was running a Hooker ORY with my setup it was more noticeable. Open the QTEC and you can really hear it loping. I recommend a LS1 Edit dynotune after install to benefit from the added driveability, power and overall running condition of the car that a dynotune provides. Well worth the usual $450-500 dollars for one. You will probably pick up 10+rwhp @ rwtq with a tune. Your powerband will be smoother and stronger along with an increase in driveability. The TR224 will work great on stock heads, see my power numbers below on stock heads. As a first cam with great daily driver street ability you have picked the best IMO!

That is the popular cam right now and can be run on stock heads untuned with great results. Do a search.
I went with the c1 (sig) its older and has a higher adv duration (286) with slower ramp rates. It thumps harder and I put down some killer numbers on stock heads and intake.
I have not seen better numbers with a similar setup with either TR.

I've had mine for about 7k miles now and have really enjoyed it. I would drive my car across the country tomorrow if I had to and not worry about it. It made the #'s in my sig with the mods listed . Mine will be for sale in the next week or two(going a little more extreme ) if your interested.

I am running the Thunder Racing TR224-114 (not the 112) cam. It is a great cam with great street manors. At the track with cam only I ran 11.5x @ 116. With heads it ran a best of 11.18 @ 120.xx. Both were at 3400lbs.

I have the Lunati version of that cam: 224/224/560/560 - 112.
I am running the comp cams Pro Magnum Steel Rockers with 1.75 ratio which gives me .575" lift. It aounds great, rumpidy-rump idle at 900 and pulls hard all the way to 6,500 rpm. I still haven't tuned it, because I am waiting on HPTuners, but it does have a hypertech power tune. Driving stoplight to stoplight in heavy traffic is great. No problems!

so my best bet is to get the 224/224-112 cam and the Thunder Racing LS1 Cam Swap Package? or should i spend the extra money and get the Thunder Racing LS1 Cam Swap Package w/ Dual Valve Springs instead? if the dual valve springs aren't absolutly neccessary then i wont buy them but if it's a good idea to buy them i will.
